• WWE will release John Cena NFTs right before SummerSlam

  • WWE has announced the release of John Cena Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), as well as never-before-sold memorabilia and experiences, just in time for SummerSlam. The NFT drop will be divided into two parts: platinum tier auction and gold tier auction. WWE has teamed up with Bitski to launch the upcoming NFTs. The tokenized collectibles, on the other hand, will be available on both platforms, Bitski and WWE.com/NFT.

The platinum tier auction will be open for only 24 hours. The auction will begin at the start of SmackDown this Friday, August 20 at 8 p.m. ET. It will continue until the start of SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21 at 8 p.m. ET.

    NFTs of the Platinum Tier

A one-of-one exclusive NFT will be included in the platinum tier auction. The platinum auction will be won by this one-of-one exclusive NFT, which will be accompanied by John Cena’s “Dr. of Thuganomics” style chain from WrestleMania 35. The winning bidder will also receive two tickets to WrestleMania 38 in 2022 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas or WrestleMania 39 in 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

This would include two front-row seats, unrivaled VIP access, and hotel accommodations. Finally, the winner of the auction will receive a custom-made WWE Championship Title Belt with his or her name engraved on the side plates.

    NFTs of the Gold Tier

After the platinum sales are completed, the gold tier auction will begin. It will take off around the time of SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21. The gold tier collection will include 500 limited edition NFTs, as well as a limited-edition merch box hand-curated by WWE legend John Cena.

“The Summer of Cena will be capped off by a phenomenal main event at SummerSlam, as well as an opportunity for the WWE Universe to own unique collectibles inspired by one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today,” said WWE Senior Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Development Scott Zanghellini.

    NFT of WWE’s Undertaker

This will be WWE’s second celebrity NFT launch, following the auction of Undertaker’s unique tokens in April of this year. WWE’s first-ever NFT collection debuted earlier this year, coinciding with WrestleMania in Tampa. The non-fungible tokens commemorated the WWE career of The Undertaker, who retired last year.
