• The first NFTs on the AkoinNFT marketplace were issued by Pope Francis

  • His Holiness is a saint. Scholas Occurrentes, Pope Francis’ first collection of NFT artwork, is now available in a limited edition on the AkoinNFT marketplace.

The NFT artworks appear to have been created by the Pontiff himself, in partnership with a small group of artists. The Pope’s global charity, the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation, will benefit from the proceeds of the first limited edition signed by him.

The Scholas Occurrentes Foundation and the PVBLIC Foundation, in particular, through their collaborative fund, the Transforming Education Donor Fund.

The goal of this foundation is to promote culture through education by combining art, sport, and technology. An approach that considers the mix of global programs and human empathy, particularly among today’s youth, for a “better tomorrow.”

Director of the Transforming Education Donor Fund, Sergio Fernandez de Cordova, said:

“We are thrilled to be initiating this NFT relationship so soon after visiting with His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican and presenting this proposal to him. We will continue to advance Pope Francis’ mission and vision through the Transforming Education Donor Fund, while mobilizing the AkoinNFT platform to help raise funds for Scholas Occurrentes, the Pontifical Foundation founded by Pope Francis to advance his vision of creating a new culture — the Culture of Encounter — through Art, Sports, and Music, drivin

The three compositions already available from Pope Francis’ NFT collection

By the end of the summer, Pope Francis’ new NFT collection will be auctioned on the AkoinNFT marketplace, with the first collection containing three works of art.

The NFTs will be available in a limited quantity of 20 units apiece.

On Akon’s NFT marketplace, Pontiff’s artwork can be found.

AkoinNFT is a marketplace dedicated to the manufacturing and distribution of NFTs that was launched directly by acclaimed rapper and record producer Akon in April 2021.

As a result of his involvement in the partnership with the two foundations, the platform is now able to offer the first collection designed in part by the Pope. Jon Karas, president, and co-founder of AkoinNFT commented in this regard:

“Through art, Scholas Occurrentes and His Holiness touch the world, allowing people to connect and care. The entire – and globally varied – AkoinNFT team is ecstatic to help Scholas Occurrentes Transforming Education Donor Fund, which supports art in education, raises global awareness, dialogue, and funds. It’s inspiring to see Scholas, the Pope’s Foundation, as an early adopter of the NFT possibility, seeing it as a viable and long-term medium for a global conversation, access, and change. We are ecstatic to offer this collection and look forward to releasing more drops in support of His Holiness Pope Francis’ Scholas Occurrentes organization in the future.”
