• NFL star Rob Gronkowski has joined forces with Voyager Digital

  • The NFL star is now a brand ambassador for the Voyager Digital cryptocurrency company, as well as a Voyager Token shareholder (VGX).

Rob Gronkowski has recently joined Tom Brady and Steph Curry as brand ambassadors for cryptocurrency companies. On Wednesday, Voyager Digital announced a multi-year agreement with the NFL star to serve as the platform’s brand ambassador.

The future Hall of Famer becomes not only a brand ambassador, but also a Voyager shareholder and VGX holder. The collaboration is the first in a series of campaigns aimed at making cryptocurrency investing more mainstream. The content created emphasizes the utility and simplicity of cryptocurrency usage.

In a press release, Stephen Ehrlich, Co-Founder and CEO of Voyager, stated, “I can’t think of a better person to have as our brand ambassador.” People know they’re getting the real deal when they hear something from Gronk. We also know that by collaborating with Gronk, we will get our message out there while also having a lot of fun.”

Gronk has already tweeted about the news and a $25,000 giveaway.

This is not Gronk’s first collaboration with a cryptocurrency company. He was one of the first NFL players to auction off a non-fungible token (NFT) collection in March. The aptly named “Championship Series” featured highlights from his numerous Super Bowl championship wins and quickly sold out.

Other legendary players have recently signed similar agreements to become not only brand ambassadors but also shareholders. The most notable members of that group are Steph Curry and Tom Brady. Steph Curry, a well-known NBA player, signed a deal with cryptocurrency exchange FTX to become a Global Ambassador yesterday. Curry will also receive an equity stake in FTX Trading Limited as part of the agreement. Curry and his wife Ayesha run a charity called Eat. Learn. Play, which will benefit from the deal as well.

In June, Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen signed a similar deal with FTX. Brady was hired as a brand ambassador, and Bündchen was appointed as FTX’s Environmental and Social Initiatives Advisor. The couple also received an equity stake in FTX.
