With a “long-term” crypto ATM relationship with the Circle K convenience store chain, Bitcoin Depot is aiming for brick-and-mortar foot traffic.
According to a press release, the crypto ATM startup wants to deploy kiosks at “thousands” of Circle K stores, with over 700 already operational in 30 states. Before the end of 2021, CEO Brandon Mintz hopes to have 6,000 kiosks across North America.
“We believe the Circle K brand has a broad and diverse client base, with visitors from many walks of life,” Mintz told CoinDesk.
The partnership comes as the crypto ATM business expands. According to Bitcoin Depot’s own data, the industry is increasing 155 percent year over year.
Mintz wouldn’t specify how Bitcoin Depot’s current computers are doing, but he did remark that “transaction volumes have continued to climb” over time.
